Sarkeys Foundation Appoints New Board President

Sarkeys Foundation is proud to announce Terry West as the new Board President for 2024. With an extensive background in practicing law and serving in leadership roles on several boards, West brings a wealth of knowledge to this crucial role.

West, a senior partner of The West Law Firm and graduate of the University of Oklahoma, will take over for Dan Little. Terry was born in Ada, Oklahoma, and graduated high school at the top of his class. He attended East Central University and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma. West continued his education at the University of Tulsa Law School and has been a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association for 50+ years. He is currently serving as the general counsel to the Oklahoma Council on Judicial Complaints. West’s dedication to philanthropy and helping the underserved and at-risk populations in our community and state aligns seamlessly with Sarkeys Foundation’s commitment to improving the quality of life in Oklahoma. As President of the Board of Trustees, West will play a pivotal role in steering the Foundation toward continued success and impact. His strategic vision and passion for making a positive difference will undoubtedly strengthen the Foundation’s ability to address critical issues and create lasting change.

“We’re so excited for Terry to lead our organization in 2024,” said Kim Henry, Executive Director of Sarkeys Foundation. “He has such insight, wisdom, and enthusiasm in life in general and especially dealing with our nonprofit community.”

West played an instrumental part in helping facilitate a $50,000 grant from Sarkeys Foundation to United Way of Pottawatomie County for tornado relief in Shawnee.
West has served on Sarkeys Foundation’s Board of Trustees for 30 years, joining in January 1994.
